Tim Burcham provides professional guidance to nonprofit organizations in the areas of philanthropic fundraising, public affairs, executive search, and strategic planning with an emphasis on change and project management.
A certified fundraising executive and change management professional with more than 30 years of experience, Tim led the advancement division as the founding Vice President of Kentucky’s largest institution of higher education, the Kentucky Community and Technical College System, from its inception.
Under his leadership as Vice President, Tim led development, marketing and public relations, grants and contracts, web and digital services, conferences and events, change and project management, and governmental affairs. His fundraising programs generated more than $200 million and created an endowment of more than $50 million.
He created and served as the founding Executive Director of the KCTCS Foundation, Inc and was the System’s legislative liaison in Frankfort and in Washington, DC.
Prior to joining KCTCS, Tim served in three leadership positions at the University of Kentucky as director of freshman admissions, associate director of development for UK Medical Center, and as the founding development director for the UK Community College System.
Tim is recognized worldwide for his 30+ years of leadership at the international level for the Association of Fundraising Professional (AFP). He served as the AFP International Board Chair and served as the Chair of the AFP Bluegrass Chapter. Tim currently serves on the fundraising board for the AFP Foundation for Philanthropy in the United States.
